What's Happening:

Week twenty-one brought real momentum on two fronts at once. Inside, the second coat of varnish is on and curing, with just the final matt coat left to go — the deep, rich colour building with every pass, even if a glossy sheen at this stage still has Simon side-eyeing the promise of a matt finish to come. And after what felt like an age of grey skies and rain-bound work, the sun finally broke through, bringing the scaffolding back up around the exterior. No going backwards from here: the outside varnish work has officially begun, running in parallel with the final interior coat.

With both sides of the house now moving together, there's a real sense the finish line is close. Doors, windows and staircase all carry that warm amber glow now, and the exterior frame is set for the same treatment, inside and out finally converging on the same timeline.
