What's Happening:

Week twenty-two brought two different stages of finishing at once. Inside, the second coats have cured and the third and final coat has gone on, the matt one that sets the finished look. The ceilings, walls and doors are glowing a deep amber, and the glazed windows and the big front doors are catching the light. Some surfaces still look glossy in the photos, but the matt is the last to go on, so the final finish is still to come.

Outside, the work is earlier in the process. The scaffolding wraps the house and the first coats are going on along the eaves, balconies and carved balustrades. The exterior will get three coats, the last of them a high gloss for protection against the weather, so there's a way to go yet. Even on first coats, the upper floor already looks richer than it did a few weeks ago, and with the weather holding the exterior is moving along at a good pace.
